Album Info:Train photos of my 2023 trip to Germany, Italy and Switzerland. This was not a train watching trip but many trains were seen and ridden. The highlight was probably hanging out the window taking pictures along the narrow gauge Rhätische Bahn network in Switzerland over the Bernina and Albula lines.

Description:  We come to a halt at Brusio for a staion stop and to meet the Bernina Express. The Bernina express is a sightseeing train on the line featuring panorama cars and an audio guide. We were on the local train which was not only cheaper but the windows in the cars opened, a much better experience for railfans I think.

Meeting the Bernina Express at Brusio
Title:  Meeting the Bernina Express at Brusio
Description:  We come to a halt at Brusio for a staion stop and to meet the Bernina Express. The Bernina express is a sightseeing train on the line featuring panorama cars and an audio guide. We were on the local train which was not only cheaper but the windows in the cars opened, a much better experience for railfans I think. Powering the train is a type ABe 4/4 III motor car from the late eighties. This turned out to be one of the last days these were in regular operation.

Description:  We were in standard second class coach that by virtue of being at the end of the train was nearly empty. Note the opened windows. Everyone in the car had a great time running from side to side grabbing pictures of all the amazing sights. Definitely a bucket list item for any railfan.
