Album Info:Conrail trains in and around Syracuse NY, roughly as far east as Kirkville, and as far west as Weedsport, and some on the Montreal Secondary. Most will be near Dewitt or CP 293 in Solvay.

Title:  Fulton local
Description:  WAFU12, a turn job from Fulton, arrives at the yard to swap cars before returning home. The GP 38's were unusual. Most trains and almost all locals got B23-7's in this area.

TV 79
Title:  TV 79
Description:  One of the hotter van trains to run the Water Level Route was TV 79, which was a djrect connection to the Santa Fe at Chicago, along with TVLA. The two often ran close to each other, one almost on the others blocks. Here, TV 79 passes the old NYC 1957 station at Dewivt with 74 TOFC and 28 stacks. Even at this late date, it was not uncommon to find sets of 4 motor power on van trains.

B boats
Title:  B boats
Description:  A westbound merchandise train, probably SETO judging by the auto parts cars head out, passes Syracuse with a B40 and a B36. The Albany Division was GE Central in those days, as Selkirk was a major GE shop, with several hundred units assigned there, including all the C30-7A's. Seeing 4 axle units was common on both road and yard assignments. Amtrak is peeking around the corner, coming in for its stop.

Description:  One of the primary van and mail trains to the east coast was TV 12. It had once run via the ex PRR, but by the mid 90s it had been moved to the Chicago Line. Here it is approaching the Dewitt Amtrak station whth 35 stack platforms and 69 TOFC.

Hot train
Title:  Hot train
Description:  One of the hottest trains on the system was TVLA, a through connection to Santa Fe that became their 198 train to Los Angeles. Together, CR and ATSF combined for a transit of apporximately 76 hours coast to coast. This one is a big train, 91 trailer flats for the Santa Fe. Check out the Saab in the parking lot.
