BRW 400 |
Description: |
A locomotive that once called this yard home has returned after many decades, or so it would seem. Privately owned LV 112 has been repainted as a replica of one of the Black River & Western's old freight locomotives in honor of the railroad's fifty years serving Hunterdon County.. |

BRW 400 |
Description: |
A profile shot of this mightly fine replica. The original SW1 400 was constructed in 1943 for the Port Everglades Belt Line Railroad. Privately owned while on the BR&W, the unit left the property in the 1970s and was cut up for scrap during the summer of 2009 at a grain facility in Illinois, where it had worked as a yard switcher. |

Classic Pose |
Description: |
In honor of their 50th anniversary of operation on the former PRR Flemington branch, some locomotives on the Black River & Western have been given repaints. 2-8-0 60 stands in Ringoes yard with former LV 112, restored as a replica BR&W 400. Such scenes were commonplace here many years ago when 60 and the original SW1 400 operated side by side in passenger and freight service. The first SW1 400 left the railroad in 1973. |

A recently rebuilt widecab is on the west end of this local departing the BR&W interchange. Interesting to see this kind of large power on a shortline where first generation Geeps and switchers are usually operated. |
