Rare bird
Title:  Rare bird
Description:  The Milwaukee had a special unit built for its commuter trains, the F40C, unique to them. They were being replaced by newer power by the turn of the millenium, so it was a good catch I made while waiting to get unloaded in the Chicago area one day.

Southbound with the usual cab car
Title:  Southbound with the usual cab car
Description:  A Union Station bound train with a cab car leading passes my position. The one time I wished the customer would take his time unloading me, they had me out in less than an hour. So much for train watching that day.

Last shot.
Title:  Last shot.
Description:  I had gone over to Trinity View Park, which is mostly ballfields, but has parking near the tracks adjacent to one of the fields. Theres a picnic table, and its great place to sit and watch the action. The last train I saw as I was leaving was this westbound crossing the Trinity River as the light went.

Pushing away from the light
Title:  Pushing away from the light
Description:  This eastbound was the one train I caught in good light as it pushed toward Dallas. The power is on the west end of trains, making afternoon photos your best bet.

Good hotel room
Title:  Good hotel room
Description:  I was in Dallas for a few days, staying at the Crowne Plaza off I 35E. The room was on the 7th floor, facing the tracks. Ididnt ask for it, just dumb luck. I had a good view of the action through a dirty window, but I still managed some photos. This is a westbound TRE train rolling across the I 35E overpass.

Leading the way
Title:  Leading the way
Description:  Most commuter operations are now push-pull, and MARC is no exception. The operational advantages are obvious, but is still miss engines pulled into the bumping blocks.
