The Illusion Of An Approaching Train |
Description: |
The PGR 36 waits on the west side of the 35W bridge on a gorgeous early afternoon in late April. It was sitting unmanned due to the PGR's "push/pull" operations on the line utilizing units at each end of their trains. At this moment the crew was using PGR 34 to switch their freight house, leaving the 36 to create the illusion of an oncoming train down at the bridge. I still kept my distance regardless. Better safe than sorry, folks. |

MNNR 313 In New Paint (And Now Named!) |
Description: |
I was happy to discover the 313 has been recently repainted into the new MNNR scheme. I note they even gave her a name, but I did not stick around to record it due to being pressed for time. Photo taken at the MNNR roundhouse. |

A portrait of the 314 as she reposes at the MNNR roundhouse beneath gray, windy (and cool) May skies early on a Monday afternoon. |

MNNR 54 At 38th Street |
Description: |
Much as I enjoy photographing the Blue (formerly Hiawatha) Line, I relish seeing freight rail action on the venerable Milwaukee Rails which still parallel Hiawatha Avenue from south of Lake Street to the Princess Depot at Minnehaha Park. Here the MNNR crew is taking the 54 south of 38th Street to do some switching on a gray (and abnormally cool and windy!) Monday morning in May. |

MNNR T-2 |
Description: |
I think this yard slug is interesting due to it being a former high-hood GE. Here it is parked with a fistful of motive power at the MNNR roundhouse. |
