Stokesdale Station |
Description: |
Recently moved from the Tioga Central Railroad Wellsboro Junction location, this little shelter was once used by passengers of the Fall Brook Railway for boarding at the Stokesdale flag stop. Preserved by a private individual in the 1950s, it was later moved to the Tioga Central Railroad in 1996 and restored. The former owner of the Tioga Central is currently reviving the former Erie Railroad Honesdale Branch as the DL&S Railroad and has been moved this shelter, as well as much rolling stock, from Wellsboro. |

Engine House |
Description: |
This wooden one stall engine house still serves in its original capacity for the Stewartstown Railroad. Constructed in the early 20th century, it is rumored to be the last engine house of its kind still used for its original purpose within Pennsylvania. At one time the track extended through the building to the other side allowing entry on both ends. The mural on the side of the building was recently added to aid in the rebirth of the Stewartstown Railroad. |

STRT 10 |
Description: |
This old GE has seen quite a bit of action over the years. Built in 1946 for the Coudersport & Port Allegany of northern Pennsylvania, it also served on the Wellsville Addison & Galeton Railroad before being acquired by the Stewartstown Railroad in 1972. Before it could move to new home rails in southern York County Hurricane Agnes struck, taking out the Northern Central line with it. With the STRT's only rail connection severed, number 10 was leased to the Lykens Valley Railroad for a little over a decade as well as spending a few years on Rail Tours Inc. excursions at Jim Thorpe. Finally in 1985, the STRT got their locomotive once the railroad took over operations on the Northern Central in addition to their original line between Stewartstown and New Freedom. |
