Union Pacific power switches Auto Racks at New Boston, Michigan, March 27, 2019! I am glad to have caught this ex Southern Pacific AC4400CW!!!! It traveled around MI the last few days. Algers, Winslow & Western SD9!!!!
Description:
My only time I witnessed an old Algers, Winslow & Western SD9s! Taken at the Indiana Eastern Railroad yard, July 25, 2019. I also saw AWW SD9 #205 stored on an overgrown track and not being used. Indiana Eastern got a high hood GP38-2 that was being prepped for paint which they started using later in 2019. I do not know if AWW SD9 #206 is being used anymore, though a worker said it was going to be back up power to the GP38-2! It did not look like AWW 205 would run again, but hopefully! Recently though (March 2020), sister railroad Squaw Creek Southern scrapped the other two AWW SD9s (there were 4 total)! Glad I got two on this trip. Photo taken with permission. My only time I witnessed an old Algers, Winslow & Western SD9 pulling a train, now going to park the engine! Taken at the Indiana Eastern Railroad yard, July 25, 2019. Algers, Winslow & Western SD9!!!!
Description:
My only time I witnessed old Algers, Winslow and Western SD9s. Taken at the Indiana Eastern Railroad yard, July 25, 2019. I also saw AWW SD9 #206 pulling the train north into the yard. AWW #205, however is stored on an overgrown track and not being used. I hope this engine operates again. Indiana Eastern got a high hood GP38-2 that was being prepped for paint at this time! They started using it later in 2019. I do not know if AWW SD9 #206 is being used. A worker though said it was going to be back up power to the GP38-2! However, recently (March 2020) sister railroad Squaw Creek Southern scrapped the other two AWW SD9s (there were 4 total)! Glad I got two on this trip. Photo taken with permission. An eastbound Canadian Pacific train with Delaware & Hudson GP38-2 #7304 passes the Ford Motor Co. owned Michigan Central depot, Detroit, MI, August 11, 2019. This is being fixed to become Fords "Autonomous Vehicle Division" office! Tracks will be restored to the station for the possible return of passenger trains. It sat vacant and derelict for years. The last Amtrak train was in 1988. I only saw the inside as a kid in 1991 and it was crumbling then. My first time catching a D&H unit! (Canon AE-1 35mm camera, Fuji C200 print film) Before this I mailed a disposable camera to Gordon Davis of Plattsburgh, NY.
