N&W 3725, front view
Title:  N&W 3725, front view
Description:  Former N&W, ex-Wabash, F-7 3725 was parked on a siding in Monticello, IL during the summer of 1984. Vandals did some damage to the fireman's/brakeman's cab window and who knows where else. The nose door was open, the number boards needed work, and the top headlight dodn't have any glass when I took this photo some time in July 1984.

N&W 3725, fireman's/brakeman's side view
Title:  N&W 3725, fireman's/brakeman's side view
Description:  Ex-Norfolk and Western, originally Wabash, F-7 3725 sits on a siding in Monticello, IL in July 1984. This view shows the fireman's/brakeman's side of the unit. The portholes don't seem to have any glass# and the unit has wooden bracing (?) against the sides of the carbody. The numberboards and (top?) headlight don't seem to have glass, either. Fortunately, this unit was later restored to operating condition for the Monticello and Sangamon Valley RR, located just a few miles east of here.

N&W 3725, engineer's side and rear view
Title:  N&W 3725, engineer's side and rear view
Description:  The porthole windows and rear access door are missing glass, and it looks like boards are bracing the sides of the carbody. N&W, ex-Wabash F-7 3725 was parked on a siding in Montilello, IL in July 1984. The "half-moon" herald was still in place and the 3725 appears to be painted by hand. We can also see the rear door to the "engine room" along with the coupler, cables, etc. At least two side panels have been removed.

N&W 3725, rear view
Title:  N&W 3725, rear view
Description:  This view shows the rear of ex-Wabash, then-N&W F-7A 3725. Note the overhand, the round hole in the access door, the scuff mark (?), probably from where trainmen tried to open the door, coupler, hoses, and red-lidded receptacle near the top of the door (MU hookup?). Look under the step, beneath the engine room access door: what is the purpose of the slotted piece of metal?
