Here is an example of a 1917 Alco-Brooks built Santa Fe-type 2-10-2 sitting in the Peoria yard. Originally built for the Wabash as their #2514, it was purchased by CIM in 1941. The unit lasted until being scrapped sometime between 1952-55 when the CIM dieseliaced. No photographer listed. |

Originally built for the Atlantic Coast Line by Baldwin in 1925-26, this loco was purchased by CIM when they needed more power. It was renumbered in 1952. Note the ACL Vanderbilt tender which was later replaced with a larger NYC style tender. This was a class H-2 and renumbered to 751 in 1952. It was finally scrapped in December of 1955. No photographer listed. |
