Album Info:Here is a two-page article by Mr. Edward Hungerford entitled "The Man In The Tower." It was published originally in the February 1943 issue of "Trains" magazine, pages 4-5. "But it was not the speed of the operation that impressed me as much as did its density. My companion and I counted in that three-hour run not less than 64 southbound passenger trains. There was an average of a passenger train every three minutes, and most of them were very long trains too." (Page 5)

Revised Caption: "GG-1 No. 4878 speeds toward Philadelphia on the Pennsy's electrified line from New York. This photo [by Herbert Weisberger] was taken at Iselin, N.J." Prominent here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #4878, a GG-1 (2-C-C-2) electric built in Juniata during February of 1939 and rated at 4,620 horsepower.
