Album Info:Anyone who's ever been to Omaha has probably noticed, up on a hill, two engines that are larger than most. Union Pacific's Big Boy 4023 and Centennial 6900 serve as monuments to the pursuit of the perfect locomotive. These powerful engines took on mountains and set speed records during their careers on the railroad, making it only fitting that their legacy be preserved in Union Pacific's hometown of Omaha, Nebraska. I hope you enjoy this album!

UP 6900
Title:  UP 6900
Description:  Built around 1970, these locomotives were nicknamed "Centennial" because they first started arriving on the 100th anniversary of the completion of the first transcontinental railroad. These locomotives were the largest diesels in the world, and UP made good use of them, putting 2 million miles on the average ones. UP 6900
Title:  UP 6900
Description:  Fast at accelerating, and reliable as far as maintenance went during the decade that they served, these engines were ultimately retired because Union Pacific stopped needing them, due to improvements in other designs, horsepower owed UP by other railroads, and a downturn in rail traffic. 14 still exist-this one came to Kenefick Park in 2008.
