It was published originally in the May 1964 issue of "Trains" magazine, page 20. Partially visible in the center is EMDX 765, an E-7 built by GM-EMD in April of 1947 and rated at 2,000 horsepower. It powered GM-EMD's "Train Of Tomorrow" around the country for 28 months before being acquired by the Union Pacific Railroad. |
