Album Info:Here is a 15-page article by Mr. Bert Pennypacker entitled "Soliloquy Of Altoona." It was published originally in the April 1978 issue of "Rails Northeast" magazine, pages 16-30. "During the busiest years of the 1940's, the giant railroad workshop produced each day 16 new box cars, 10 new gondolas, 2 new cabin cars, and heavy class repairs to 6 locomotives. In addition, 2 new locomotives and 2 new tenders were completed each week." (Page 19)
