BP 4-4-0 #17 - Boston & Providence
Title:  BP 4-4-0 #17 - Boston & Providence
Description:  Good looking 4-4-0 example of an inside cylinder design for a steam locomotive. The loco was built in 1858 at the BP shops in Roxbury, MA, and carries the name "Daniel Nason". In 1893 the NYNHH took control and the loco was leased to my alma mater, Purdue University, in 1905. Eventually it was donated to the National Museum of Transportation.

Description:  Although it is a 2-2-2T built by Baldwin in 1889, the RRPA data base doesn't have a listing for a 2-2-2T, hence the listing as 2-4-2T to match other postings as well as the RDG BD listing. Impressive inspection locomotive now housed at the National Museum of Transportation..
