Shown here (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #5899 and two more E-8's whose numbers are not recorded. All are EP-22's built by GM-EMD and rated at 2,250 horsepower each. #5899 was built in March of 1951. |

Shown here is former Pennsylvania Railroad engine #7048, an EFS-17M built by GM-EMD in December of 1955 and rated a 1,750 horsepower. In this photo taken on 5 September 1985, it is waiting to be pushed up the mountain to the Horseshoe Curve to replace K-4S "Pacific" #1361 and, thereby, become the new commemorative locomotive. Photo taken just East of the 24th Street Bridge. |
