KAUILA 6
Title:  KAUILA 6
Description:  "KAUILA" was the Oahu Railway & Land Company's first locomotive. It is a 12 ton steam locomotive built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works in Philadelphia, PA in 1889. Originally built for the Kingdom of Hawaii's Ministry of Public Works to work in the Moiliili Quarry, the little locomotive was not suitable for the tracks in the quarry and was put up for sale. At this same time Benjamin Dillingerham had placed a bet with his friends that he would give them a ride on his new OR&L railway on his birthday, but then found that his first two locomotives would not arrive in time. He quickly bought "KAUILA", gave free rides and won his bet. "KAUILA" served the OR&L until 1933, when it was put on display in front of the railway's roundhouse in the Iwilei area of Honolulu.

Description:  Ewa No. 1 is an 1890's Baldwin steam locomotive used on the Ewa Sugar Plantation. It was the first locomotive purchased for use on the plantation and, out of 7 Ewa Plantation locomotives, it is the only one that was saved and preserved. Ewa No. 1 was powered by oil, not coal or wood. Behind Ewa No. 1 is the tender that carried the oil and water.

WACO 6
Title:  WACO 6
Description:  "WACO 6", a 25-ton plantation locomotive, was built in the Waialua Agricultural Company shops in 1919, using parts from the plantation and the Baldwin Locomotive Works. It was a typical locomotive used by the Hawaiian sugar industry, with its 0-6-2 wheel arrangement, oil for fuel and a saddle tank for water placed over its boiler. Although it appears small, it was capable of pulling more than 50 loaded sugar cane cars from the fields to the sugar mill at a speed of 10-15 mph. This locomotive was placed on display in Waialua after its retirement in 1952 and was later donated to the Hawaiian Railway Society as its first acquisition.

ORL 64
Title:  ORL 64
Description:  Benjamin Dillingham, founder of the Oahu Railway and Land Company, had this car assembled in the OR&L shops in Honolulu in 1900. Built for his private use, it carried numerous dignitaries and other guests of the railroad until its retirement in 1947. This car was the most elegant on the OR&L. It has a large rear platform enclosed with iron grillwork, so riders could sit in the open and enjoy the scenery and cool breezes as their train rolled along. Special features of the car included a small galley, sideboard lavatory, washstand, and leather upholestered chairs. The interior woods - oak, mahogany, and birdseye maple - conveyed a feeling of great luxury. After retirement this car was displayed at the Ala Moana Center and the Bishop Mueseum.
