Description:  A Virginian coal hopper passes through Forest Hill/75th St in Chicago. Merged road power may get repainted in a few years, but rolling stock seems to go on forever. Its been 25 years since N&W took over the Virginian, yet still there are hoppers running around in VGN garb.

Description:  WAIT 2 has a block of empty coal hoppers rolling down the street on a cloudy day in Ithaca. It will take 15 minutes for the traffic to clear. Note the Greyhound at left. It is about to make its Ithaca stop, ironically at the old DLW station(yes, the DLW went to Ithaca), a small portion of which is seen at far right.

Description:  Pittsbugh & Shawmut sent a lot of coal to NYSEG from mines on its railroad in western PA, and these cars were a common sight in the Southern Tier. This XWB train to West Brownsville had a good number, including this one, crossing the PRR Buffalo Line at Olean.

Description:  The Chicago Central was a spin off of the ICs Iowa Division back in the 1980s that IC/CN reacquired. This new looking car has CC reporting marks, an odd turn all these years later.

Description:  Seems like there are not many of these, at least that we see here, since the primary customers are American Electric Power and Texas Utilities, both of which have their own fleets.
