Album Info:Conrail purchased a total of 135 units between 1983 and 1986, making them the second largest owner of the model next to CSX, which ordered a total of 144 units. This is the first of 3 albums to be posted of the color slides mostly taken by CR conductor Ken Taylor.

Description:  Newly arrived, this new SD50 #6709 and sister unit behind, #6707, are ready to roll out of the Conway, PA, yard on one of their first assignments. After the CR dissolution, #6709 became CSX 8647 while #6707 became NS 5403. The color slide was taken by CR conductor Ken Taylor.

A pair of new SD50's on display
Title:  A pair of new SD50's on display
Description:  Sitting as if on display at the Conway yard turntable are two newly delivered SD50's that Conrail had ordered to solve the power shortage. A total of 135 SD50 units would be ordered by CR in the three years making it the 2nd largest owner of SD50's behind CSX who had 144 units. After the CR breakup, #6716 would become NS 5410 while #6703 would add to the CSX group as their #8644. CR conductor Ken Taylor took this color slide.

Description:  Note the side scraped under the cab window and the mangled handrailing behind. Looks like this SD50 unit was involved in a sideswipe accident of some kind.
