| Album Info: | This is what I had been waiting for. Between heads ups from railfans, I knew it was in the area and potentially coming down the B-RI.
A BNSF employee, of whom I'm good friends with; knew she was on the H-TEAPTX tonight and departing Teague at 19:00 CDT, so I received a text message prior to departure.
But with severe thunderstorms rolling in and rapidly waning light, I was not confident I'd capture it.
I was set up just up my street at the widest place to get a broadside, but after a few test shots, I ran home last second to retrieve my 50mm f1.4 lens, the fastest I have. As soon as my hand touched the doorknob, EOT chirp! I never heard the Defect Detector. I literally ripped open the camera bag, grabbed the lens and jumped back into the golf cart where the video camera was set up.
I barely made it.
