Album Info:Here is a four-page article by Mr. E. John Long entitled "Runaway." It was published originally in the August 1953 issue of "Trains & Travel" magazine, pages 18-21. "Raucous blasts, one after another in quick succession, shattered the morning air. To those who saw the heavy train racing into the complicated patterns of track, it added up to the one word that railroaders dread most: runaway! (Page 21)

Description:  Here is page three of a four-page article by E. John Long entitled "Runaway." It was published originally in the August 1953 issue of "Trains & Travel" magazine, page 20. Partial Caption: "A view from above shows clearly how the 'Federal' crossed the concourse, fell through the concourse floor, and stopped just as the nose of the engine reached the waiting-room door." Visible here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #4876, a GG-1 (2-C-C-2) built in Juniata in January of 1939 and rated at 4,620 horsepower.
