Album Info:Here are several duplicate 35mm color slides of Pennsykvania Railroad locomotives. I purchased all of them via two eBay auctions conducted by Ms. Dawn Nyman in June and July of 2023. The photographers' names, the exact dates, and the locations are provided when available.

Description:  Nyman. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of Pennsylvania Railroad engine #6755, an M-1B (4-8-2) "Mountain" built in Juniata as an M-1A during June of 1930, rebuilt as an M-1B in April of 1944, and presently on display at the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania in Strasburg. The photographer's name, the road number of the GM-EMD EF-15 that's towing the "Mountain," as well as the exact date and the location, are not recorded.

Description:  Nyman. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of (L to R) Pennsylvania Railroad engine #9623 and two more units whose road numbers are not recorded. All were built by the American Locomotive Company. #9623 is an AF-16 constructed in November of 1951, rated at 1,600 horsepower, and retired in January of 1967 after just 16 years of revenue service. The photographer's name, the exact date, and the location are not recorded.

Prominent here is an A-B-A set of unidentified Pennsylvania Railroad diesel-electric locomotives pushing a northbound coal train on the Elmira Branch. All are of the "AF" Class built by the American Locomotive Company. Note the Conductor and the Engineman "hooping orders" from the Watchman below.

Description:  Nyman. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by John Szwajkart that was taken near Allegrippus, Pennsylvania, c. 1960. Shown here (R to L) is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #8666 and another unit whose road number is not recorded. Both were built by the American Locomotive Company. #8666 is an AS-18AM constructed in February of 1958 and rated at 1,800 horsepower. They're hauling a fully-loaded mineral train down the Allegheny Mountains to the Receiving Yards in Altoona.

Description:  Nyman. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by John Szwajkart that was taken at the Horseshoe Curve near Altoona, Pennsylvania, c. 1956. Shown here (L to R) is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #9595 and two "Shark" B-units whose road numbers are not recorded. #9595 is a BF-16 built by Baldwin-Lima-Hamilton in April of 1951, rated at 1,600 horsepower, and retired in July of 1966 after just 15 years of service. On this misty morning, they're rounding the Curve on their way up the Allegheny Mountains to the Cresson Branch where they'll pick-up a fully-loaded mineral train and move it down "The Mountain" to the Altoona Receiving Yards. Notable here is the cabin car: it's the PRR's one-of-a-kind N-5E #477594 built in the ACS in October, 1929. Many thanks to Mr. Anthony Zinskie for identifying this car correctly.

Description:  Nyman. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by John Szwajkart that was taken at the Passenger Station in Englewood, Illinois, c. 1953. Shown here are two unidentified Pennsylvania Railroad BP-20 diesel-electric locomotives built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works and rated at 2,000 horsepower each. In this context, this A-B set is about to depart the Station with a passenger train bound for Fort Wayne and points East. "All ABOARD!"

Description:  Nyman. Here is an original 35mm color slide by William P. Nixon that was taken at the Brick Yard Crossing in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 13 April 1956. Shown here is the Pennsylvania Railroad's "Aerotrain," built by General Motors during July of 1955. At sunset, it's descending the Allegheny Mountains and will soon pause at the Altoona Passenger Station on its daily sojourn from New York City to Pittsburgh and back.
