VT 4-4-0 #11 - Virginia & Truckee
Title:  VT 4-4-0 #11 - Virginia & Truckee
Description:  This loco, nicknames "The Reno", was built by Baldwin in May of 1872 and was the oldest loco on the Virginia & Truckee roster. The loco was purchased by MGM Studios in 1945 for use in movies. In 1970 while MGM was shedding properties and props, the loco was sold to the Old Tucson Studios where it was on display. Jim Lockart photographed it here on one of his trips out West. Since then the loco was purchased by the new V&T tourist line and was moved back to Virginia City, NV. This was the first time since 1938 that it appeared here. Inoperable, it is now a display at the Virginia City Depot with plans to restore it to operation. We can only hope!

VT 4-6-0 #25 - Virginia & Truckee
Title:  VT 4-6-0 #25 - Virginia & Truckee
Description:  Originally built by Baldwin in January of 1905, this was the 2nd VT #25 on the roster. After serving the Virginia & Truckee for nearly 42 years, it was sold to RKO Radio Pictures and starred in many movies through the years. Somehow it finally ended up at the Nevada State RR Museum where avid amateur railfan Jim Lockart photographed it on one of his trips to the West.
