ME 2-8-0 #6 - Morristown & Erie |

Before the Pittsburgh Locomotive Works joined the ALCo group in 1901, it built this 2-8-0 Consolidation for the PLE as their #135 in April of 1898 but shipped it out on 5/4/1898. The loco was sold to the NYC in 1907 and renumbered NYC 2-8-0 #9314. Morristown & Erie acquired it on 9/16/1914. The loco was retired to spare engine status with its very last day of operation on 12/21/1945. It was finally scrapped on 10/1948. This is a Donald W. Furler photo. |

Description: |
Built by Alco-Brooks in October of 1904 as BRP 2-8-0 Consolidation type #328, it eventually was aquired by the Morristown & Erie in 10/18/1927. The loco served until being stored 9/1/1944 and then finallhy scrapped in January of 1947. No photographer was listed for this rare photo and no exact date in 1946 was given. |

ME 2-4-0 #7 - Morristown & Erie |
Description: |
Originally built by Alco-Schenectady in April of 1905 (sn 307489 as Quebec & Lake St john 2-4-0 #14, it was eventually sold to Morristown & Erie on January 1, 1917. The little 2-4-0 Porter type steam loco served well until finally meeting the scrapper's torch on April 9, 1952. Original spcesd - 51" drivers, 26x24" cylinders, engine weight of 80,000 lb. No photographer was listed for this rare photo and no exact day in the summer of 1949 was given. |

Built by Alco-Pittsburgh in November of 1909, it was originally Monongahela RR 2-8-0 Consolidation #116. It was acquired by Morristown & Erie in 8/22/1944. After nearly 11 years with the ME, it was finally sent to the scrapper in October 12. 1955. Not photographer was listed for this rare shot. |
