Album Info:The Gulf, Colorado, & San Saba Railroad is a feeder line that operates 67 miles of former ATSF track from Brady to Lometa, Texas. Its primary business comes from several sand plants near Brady. Most of the sand from its biggest customer, Oglebay Norton, is destined for Bakersfield, California. The GCSR interchanges with the BNSF at Lometa on the Lampasas Sub.

Title:  ITGX 11563
Description:  Oglebay Norton is the GCSR's primary customer. This car would be interchanged with the BNSF at Lometa and continue to the Oglebay Norton plant in Bakersfield, Ca. where it would further processed. The finished product might very well find itself being shipped back to the oil fields of Texas.

Gulf, Colorado, & San Saba sand train at the end of the day
Title:  Gulf, Colorado, & San Saba sand train at the end of the day
Description:  FURX 1170 pulled up to the Hall crossing about 5PM. A small pickup pulled up beside the engine, honked his horn, and the crew went home. Railroading is a lot simpler on a shortline.
