N.O.S. & W. B. Hoppers (and a tree) |
Description: |
Note the tree growing out of these old friction bearing truck hoppers at the New Orleans Sewerage and Water Board. What's your guess as to how long it's been since these cars have moved? 30 years? There is little industrial shover engine of unknown type just out of the frame. |

Amtrak at the Parish Line |
Description: |
AMTK 185 and 182 pull #1 around the "Airline Turn" at the Orleans Parish Line. The train has just left NOUPT and is turning south in an elongated "S" curve, after parallelling Airline Highway for a few hundred yards. It peels away from the KCS yard along the old I.C. tracks, running under the Earhart Expressway before turning West towards East Bridge Tower. Then it's up the Huey P Long and down through UP's Avondale yard. I'm standing on top of a huge sandbag that sits on a levee across from a pumpng station. |
