Album Info:Pictures in this album are from a train derailment in Scranton, PA. A Norfolk Southern train pulling 43 cars was coming from Binghamton, NY heading to Harrisburg, PA on Canadian Pacific tracks. 9 cars left the tracks. It happened around noon on March 9. I got there about 8am this morning. There were no injuries. 4 cars fell on their side. 2 Autoracks and 2 cars carrying lumber. 2 cars carrying hazmat did not derail. About 500 feet of track has to be replaced. When I arrived, all of the train was gone except the 4 cars that had tipped over, were stood up again and 2 NS locos. crews had pushed spilled lumber to the side and were preparing for new tracks.
