D1015 heads for Newquay with the "Western China Clay" Railtour |
Description: |
Preserved Class 52, D1015 Western Champion Heads for Newquay with a railtour on Saturday 19th March 2005 at 1640. The locomotive had worked the tour from London to Plymouth where it picked up a support loco, Class 66 66248 as there were no run round facilities at Fowey Docks and Newquay for a train of this length, 14 coaches. The railtour was a rerun of a tour 24 years ago which then ran to commorate the passing of the Westerns from Mainline service. The train is seen on the approach to Nequay at a Village called Chapel |
