Description:  MP caboose 13224 at El Paso; former KO&G 1532, built at Muskogee in 1947 in the series KOG 1532-1537. Retired by MP June 1982. It's painted in the then-standard caboose vermillion scheme that quickly weathered into an overall orange color.

Description:  SLSF plywood-sided caboose 1147 at Joplin July 1974. What was left of these workhorse, steam-era cabooses were largely replaced in the 1970s by a group of extended-vision cars built from boxcars at the road's Springfield shops.

Description:  Katy cab no.14 sits at the end of a short train near the Columbia depot. The crew will soon return from dinner and head down the branch for the mainline at Mc Baine and then on to Franklin. 14 was rebuilt at the Parsons Shops in 1977 as MKT 201 with a centered extended vision cupola.
