NW 2508 GP-9 & NW 238 GP-35 |
Description: |
Former NKP unit westbound on former Wabash 4th district. These tracks were torn up in 1986. You can see the NKP stripes peeking thru on the front end. My brother and a buddy got a cab ride while the crew kicked a couple of cars into a siding on this day while a crew member brought them to a stop using the brakewheel. Pretty sure they were just showing off. Note the brand new Starcraft trailers in the distance in front of the Geep. |

GP-30 leaving Topeka westbound with the "Pine turn". I forget if it was the agent at Topeka that told me thats what the once daily train was called or possibly a conductor who told me.. I have another picture I wont be uploading that shows me in front of the engine in some God-awful red short shorts and knee-high athletic socks... yikes! |
