Album Info:One of the true workhorses at the 2011 Rock Island Train Festival was this Iowa Interstate RR GP38 unit. It ran at the opposite end to the IAIS 2-10-2 steam engine for the two hour excursions into Iowa. Its duties consisted of pulling the excursion train out of the festival grounds to the IAIS yard where the steam engine took over for a glorious run into the Iowa countryside. Then it served as the power end for the return trip to the festival all the while everyone remembering the steam whistle and chugga chugga sounds on the way out.
