vintage Family Lines Ssytem red casoose |
Description: |
This is the last known vintage Family Lines caboose in red paint. It was built in the 1940s for the Clinchfield as CRR 1078. Then in the late 1970s it was repainted Family Lines System, some cabooses from this class were painted in Family Lines gray while a few in red. It was relettered/numbered SBD 11078 by adding a "1" to its CRR number. This is located off I-40 exit 258, in fact it can be seen from I-40 on the south side. It is part of an used autmobile dealer lot, easy to photograph. |

A view of linage |
Description: |
As you can see even SBD cannot completely cover up history. As viewed you can see SBD added a "1" when they renumbered this from CRR 1078. I am greatful the new owner (automobile dealership) did not cover this up, they sure came close. |
