Album Info:Periodically someone sends in pictures of this great dame of the Nickel Plate Road as she sits in fading elegance across from the Hammond Civic Center on Sohl Avenue in Hammond, testimony to the years of service to the city. This is my contribution. She has been there unsheltered since 1955 and the ravages of time have taken their toll on a once beautiful form. Many plans hae been built around her but here she still sits waiting. . . hoping . . . and remembering what it was to pound tme rails in glory.
