Album Info:While on a fall color trip into Michigan, we passed through Sturgis, MI, in search of the shortline Michigan Southern that runs between Sturgis and White Pigeor, MI, we found the beautiful station at Sturgis, MI. Originally built by the Lbke Shore and Michigan Southern Railway (eventually absorbed by NYC), this station now houses the Sturgis Historical Society. Unfortunately, it was closed for a few hours and we did not get a chance to see inside. Previous to the historical society use, the station also served as the Sturgis police department headquarters in the 1990s. The small yard outside the station currently is used to store railraod cars on a temporary basis. We didn't find any activity on Micsigan Southern this day.
