Album Info:The Griffith Railroad Historical Society has slowly been collecting pieces of rolling stock of former Elgin Joliet & Eastern Rwy. On this sunny day in March, a new piece was added - a Bessemer & Lake Erie flatcar with connections to the EJ&E. Strictly by accident I saw a flatbed truck carrying the flatcar body so I tailed it to my own downtoun = Griffith, IN. Here are the photos I took while high up on the EJ&E tower in the park overlooking the action. Not a great place from a lighting point of view but it did allow a view of the entire process that took well over an hour and a half, even with two cranes and about a dozen men!
