Album Info:Impressive stretch of Norfolk Southern covered hoppers were caught running down the Indiana Harbor Belt mainline in East Chicago just south of the Calumet Tower last August. I've included the first and last numbered cars of each of the series of numbers in the train that contained some 100 cars.

Description:  Heading down the IHB mainline is this unit NS covered hopper train headed up by these two massive units. The car line stretches past the IHB Calumet Tower and into the IHB Michigan Avenue yard. Nearly 100 covered hoppers made up this train, all NS.

Description:  Although the unit train had around 100 cars, it took about 4 minutes for them to roll past my vantage point. Impressive movement! By the way, just recently (February, 2013), the Indiana Harbor Belt single pole signal to the right side has been replace with a cantilever LED signal set. Much easier for us rr paparazzi to read the signals!
