Album Info:I revisited the PVS in Pecos, Texas after an absence of 5 years and time has not treated the short line well. PVS 7 and PVS 8 apparently have been scrapped out and PVS 9 sits idle with weeds growing around it. The repair facility is in dis-repair and the other equipment continues to rust away. No mean feat, considering the lack of moisture in the Texas desert. Five years ago, the PVS served the Hoban materials plant south of Pecos but not anymore. The tracks at Hoban are grown up in weeds and covered with asphalt in at least one place. Hope springs eternal in the short line business, but I am afraid that the “Peavine” had died on the vine.
