This 1921 Baldwin Locomotive Works 2-8-2 Mikado was an ATSF class 4000 unit. It had the larger 63" drivers, but slightly less boiler pressure than its older sisters (190 psi), but still generated a respectable 59,801 lb tractive effort. This class of ATSF Mikados were finally scrapped between 1950-54 after serving nearly 30+ years. Date is approximate. |
