Built by Alco-Schenectady in 1910, this articulated Mallet was originally built as a 0-6-6-0 configuration for the Denver, Northwestern & Pacific RR but this website doesn't offer that rare configuration for Alco. A leading truck was added in 1912 along with mechanical stokers by the now renamed Denver & Salt Lake RR. The class was purchased by the Denver & Rio Grande Western where they served until retirement in the late 1940's-early 1950's. Unknown photographer. |
