Title:
PRR 2219, EF-22, 1965
Description:
17th Street. Here is an original photo that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad train in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 04 July 1965. Shown here (L to R) are PRR engines #2219, #2338, #2324, and #2321. All were built by EMD. #2219 and #2231 are EF-22's built in 1963 and rated at 2,250 horsepower each. #2338 and #2324 are EF-25's built in 1965 and rated at 2,500 horsepower each. They are pulling a 120-car merchandise freight past ALTO Tower on their way to Enola and points East.
