PRR 4856, GG-1, 1965 |
Description: |
WIL-ALT-65. Here is an original photo that I took while riding in a Pennsylvania Railroad passenger train from North Philadelphia to Harrisburg during August of 1965. Shown here (L to R) are PRR engines 4856 and another unit whose number is not recorded. #4856 is a GG-1 built in Juniata during June of 1935. They are pulling an eastbound TrucTrain near Pomeroy, between Parkesbug and Atglen. Note that the track in the middle has just been eliminated. Special thanks go to Mr. Brian Ferrell for clarifying the location of this photo! |
