Description:  While UP 3427 north was stopped for a malfunctioning crossing, it seemed an ideal time to get a detail shot of UP 2402, the second locomotive. In particular, I noted the new hardware on the trucks, including a gas shock and, I think, three new traction motors. I also note that this SD60M is self-start equipped.

Description:  Westbound NS train 112 runs away from a line of thunderstorms on 25 May 2008. The train is slowing for a meet with eastbound 255 at High Hill, about a mile ahead. UP SD60M 2402 leads units from UP, NS and EMDX as they cross Interstate 70.

Title:  Westbound on the NS
Description:  Thunderstorms behind it and its meet with a train at High Hill complete, NS train 112 continues its westward journey to Moberly and Kansas City. Power tonight is a nice change from the wave of C40-9Ws that seem to frequent a lot of trains around here; UP SD60M 2402, UP SD40-2 3353, NS SD70M-2 2671, NS C40-8 8709, EMD SD60 9033.
