CB&Q U25B 103
Title:  CB&Q U25B 103
Description:  Chicago Burlington & Quincy Railroad U25B 103 westbound on the CGI at Naperville, Illinois on February 27, 1965, Ektachrome by Chuck Zeiler. The CGI was an expedited freight train between Cicero, Illinois and Grand Island, Nebraska, and featured a pool of locomotives from the CB&Q and UP. It started in the late GP9 era (about 1960) and lasted (I believe) to the BN merger. Usually the newest locomotives were used, but I got a shot of a similar lashup headed by a Q F2. This locomotive was built in September 1964 (c/n 35197), became BN 5427, and was retired in July 1981.

CB&Q U25B 103
Title:  CB&Q U25B 103
Description:  Chicago Burlington & Quincy Railroad U25B 103 westbound at @aperville, Illinois on March 21, 1966, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. Built in September 1964 (c/n 35197), it became BN 5427 and was retired in July 1981. It is seen here heading a westbound freight, trailing is a GP30, GP35, and two D&RGW GP30's. At the time of the photo, the CB&Q had run-through arrangements with a few railroads, the Rio Grande being one. The Burlington also had run-through arrangements with the UP and the NYC, and later, the PC. However, when the Q found one of its shiny new GE locomotives in MOW service on the PC, that arrangement was quickly terminated.
