FV - 4-4-0 No Number - Fairmount & Veblen
Title:  FV - 4-4-0 No Number - Fairmount & Veblen
Description:  Rare 1958 reprint of the Fairmount & Veblen 4-4-0 that was involved in an accident. The F&V was a short line between Richland County, North Dakota and Roberts/Marshall counties in South Dakota. The only mention of a locomotive was that one was acquired from the Soo Line to use on the new railroad. Incorporated in December of 1912, it lasted until being sold to the Minneapolis, St Paul & Sault Ste Maire (Soo) in 1915. F&V was its reporting mark but with such a short life, the mark has all but disappeared. No information was listed for this original photo.

Luraville Loco 4-4-0
Title:  Luraville Loco 4-4-0
Description:  Built by Danforth. Cooke & Co of Patterson, NJ (predecessor of Cooke Locomotive Works) between 1850-1855, this little loco led an interesting life!. It worked for 50 years in the logging industry before an accident in the 1890's caused it to fall in the Suwannee River where it remained until being recovered in 1979. James Lancaster of Luraville, FL, was the man who saved it, hence the name for the loco. After being sold, it was eventually donated in 1982 to the Florida Dept of Agriculture. After much work it was officially recognized with a historic marker and set in a place of honor next to a new depot inTallahassee, FL

WP 26
Title:  WP 26
Description:  Travel Town was the brainchild of LA County Park's employee Charlie Atkinr. In the 1950s, many local railroads donated steam engines to Travel Town, but over the years, the collection was put under the responsbility of those who didn't care about saving these artifiacts, simply aclowing them to rust away. Today, things are vastly improved, as the city has changed Travel Town's focus from being a playground to being a museum.
