Description:  Sacramento Southern Railroad, owned by the California State Railroad Museum serves a number of local industries via an interchange with the Union Pacific Railroad. The diamond was removed years ago, so once a week a crew from UP temporarily place rails over the top of the two UP mainlines and then removes them after making the switch (photo 1 of 5)

Title:  Outside the rail shop
Description:  A 1/2 Ton Toyota Pick-Up sits next to an 80-Ton GE Switcher used by the Utility Rail Branch, and a small track speeder used by the track maintenance department. This old work horse (the locomotive, not my truck) is responsible for the switching duties around the garrison. Rebuilt in 1989, the center cab has two Cummins 6 cylinder turbos while the 1991 king cab (as it was called in the 90s) also equipped with 6 cylinders.
