Description:  D&H 5017 works a cut of cars as todays prize, the power for RPPY, sits next to the tower. I got lucky today-RPPY went south shortly after this was taken, and I was able to chase to Scranton. Another piece of vanished railroading is in this photo: the D&H box car next to 5017.

Description:  RPPY has just left East Binghamton, and is passing BLS Shaws. By this time, trains have usually cleared the south limit of the yard. There is still a slow slog to the end of the double track south of Conklin, as there is a 10 MPH speed restriction in place. Its a drag for the crews, but a great opportunity for photographers.

He remembers the good old days when the Ohio Valley was a bustling hub of rail activity. We've both often lamented the lack of photos of this area in its heyday when everyone took it for granted.
