Leading on the Curve
Title:  Leading on the Curve
Description:  An eastbound NS freight rolls past through the interchange with the South Newton Lead (former Carolina & North-Western) into the infamous Newton curve at the milepost S-48, in brisk early morning hours of early January. The Newton Depot used to be behind the locomotives on the engineers side before it was moved in 1998, and the freight Depot stood on the spot where the picture was made.

Hunter Harrison now in full fledge, many of the autorack trains that were once just autorack trains on this line now have intermodel mixed into them. This is clearly a mixture of the now abolished CSX Q106 and CSX Q292.

Description:  Train 205 rolls across the Chemung River just after the sun dipped too low to light up the train. My friend Sam Botts and I had stood on the Main St bridge for about an hour anticipating a 13T with some kind of off line power. We were a little surprised when 205 showed. It was really cold that day-low 20s-and now almost dark. We called it quits after this. Thats railfanning!!
