Description:  Blackhawk. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide (converted to B&W) of a photo by William K. Viekman that was taken in Sandusky, Ohio, in 1956. Photo Caption: "Pennsylvania H-10's, 2-8-0's, Nos. 7234, 9989, 9895, and 8173, Sandusky, Ohio, 1956." Shown here are four Pennsylvania Railroad "Consolidations" built by four different firms. #7234 was built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works as number "7234" during December of 1913, renumbered "7563" in 1958, and retired in October of 1958. #9989 was built in Juniata as Vandalia H-8C number "419" during February of 1912, rebuilt by Vandalia as H-8SC number "361" in September of 1916, renumbered PRR "8824" in 1917, rebuilt in Juniata as an H-10S in November of 1920, renumbered "9889" in 1951, later renumbered "9989," and retired in August of 1957. #9895 was built by the American Locomotive Company during June of 1913 and retired in October of 1957. #8173 was built by the Lima Locomotive Works during October of 1915 and retired in October of 1957. This photo comes from a color slide set entitled "Steam Power ~ East and West" that's produced by Blackhawk Films of Davenport, Iowa (816-11).

Prominent here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #8280, an L-1S (2-8-2) "Mikado" built by the Lima Locomotive Works as number "7628" during November of 1917, renumbered "8280" in August of 1919, converted to an oil-burner by 1948, and retired in April of 1958 after 41 years of faithful service. Depicted here (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #5471 and #5352. Both are K-4S (4-6-2) "Pacifics." #5471 was built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works in March of 1927 and retired in August of 1956, while #5352 was built in Juniata in March of 1924 and retired in February of 1950.
