IC SW1 615 |
Description: |
On 18 April 1954 Illinois Central SW1 615 was photographed next to the sand tower at Mays Yard, just west of New Orleans, coupled to SW7 9415. The SW1 had been built in June 1946 as the 9030 and it was renumbered 615 in October 1953 – just six months before this photo was taken – so its original number could be reused on a new GP9. The 9415 was renumbered 415 in December 1959 so its original number could be reused on a new GP18. |

IC SW1 9014 (Westvaco 4800) |
Description: |
This seems to be the oldest Diesel Locomotive at the Tennessee Central Railway Museum being built in December of 1939. It supposed to be numbered WVCX 4800, but as you can see in this picture it is numbered IC 9014. |

ICRR or LCRR 9014 Maybe its LGRR? Whatever it is, I have no idea what it is. |
Description: |
Westvaco also looks like a possibility, but 9014 appears likely. Actually, I think perhaps its is IC - from the pictures, it does (and really RR would be understood). IC 9014 comes up as a SW1 and this is some sort of switcher at least, so if not an SW1 it is close (is an SW1 anything like an S1W? Don't believe the hype?) |
