Prevosto. Here is a photo by an unidentified photographer that was taken in Modena, Pennsylvania, in February of 1952. Shown here is Long Island Rail Road engine #340, a DD-1 (2-B+B-2) electric built in Juniata and rated at 3,160 horsepower. Both units were built for the Pennsylvania Railroad in July of 1910 and sold to the LIRR in June of 1927. PRR "3994" became #340-A, while PRR "3983" became #340-B. Note that the main driving rods have been removed in preparation for scrapping. |

Here is a photo of Long Island Railroad engine #345 ~ consisting of #345-A on the right, and #345-B on the left. Both are DD-1's (2-B+B-2) built in Juniata during June of 1911 and rated at 3,160 horsepower. They first served on the Pennsylvania Railroad, but were transferred to the Long Island Rail Road in December of 1927. #345-A was originally numbered "3944," while #345-B was originally numbered "3946." Both are DD-1 (2-B+B-2) electrics built in Juniata for the Pennsylvania Railroad and rated at 3,160 horsepower each. Both units of #348 were constructed in July of 1910 and sold to the LIRR in February of 1928; PRR "3954" became #348-A, while PRR "3955" became #348-B. Both units of #352 were constructed in July of 1910 and sold to the LIRR in May of 1928; PRR "3974" became #352-A, while PRR "3989" became #352-B.
