Carrying the markers for the Florida Special is SCL 6800 "Moonlight Dome". This car was built by Budd in 1948 as C&O 1850, a 5rm/3dr/1br/dome for the "Chessie" streamliner - the train that never was. It was later B&O 7600, then SCL 6800, and Amtrak 9200. Later in private ownership as PPCX 800203, it was sold to CSX for use in their business car fleet in 2021. Date of this photo approximate. |
